China PET Cosmetic Bottle Factory Introduces The Characteristic

  • China PET Cosmetic Bottle Factory introduces the difference between PET plastic bottles and PE plastic bottles

Polyethylene terephthalate is a colorless transparent substance with a certain luster (indeterminate), or an opaque milky white substance (crystalline form). It is difficult to catch fire and burn, but once burned, although the flame is removed, it can continue to burn. When burning, it will melt and burst into pieces. The flame is yellow, and the edge is early blue. With a slightly sweet, pungent odor. The performance of pure PET is very poor, especially the impact strength and heat resistance are poor, but after being reinforced by glass fiber, various properties are greatly improved.

Physical properties of polyethylene (PE): polyethylene is non-toxic, tasteless and milky white. Density of 0.91 ~ 0.96g/cm3 is a crystalline plastic. Polyethylene has a certain mechanical strength, but compared with other plastics, its mechanical strength is low and its surface hardness is poor.
Polyethylene has excellent insulating properties. At room temperature, polyethylene is insoluble in any known solvent, and resistant to dilute sulfuric acid, dilute nitric acid and other acids of any concentration, as well as alkali and salt solutions of various concentrations. Polyethylene has a high degree of water resistance, and its properties can remain unchanged in long-term exposure to water. Polyethylene has poor water vapor permeability, while oxygen and carbon dioxide and many organic matter vapors have good performance.

Use temperature-weather resistance: Polyethylene will age and become brittle under the action of heat, light and oxygen. Generally, the use temperature of high pressure polyethylene is about 800C, and the low pressure polyethylene is about 1000C. Polyethylene is cold-resistant, still has good mechanical properties at -600C, and still has a certain softness at -700C. To put it simply, PET is mostly used in food packaging materials, and PE is mostly used in pharmaceutical packaging materials.
