An Instrument That Remembers Your Touch
A guitar that has been played for years holds something more than wood and wire. It holds the slight wear of a fingertip, the small scratches from a late-night session, the warmth of repeated use. Pati na Khata builds instruments that are not meant to stay new. They are meant to become yours.
Who We Are
We are a small team of luthiers and repair technicians who believe that a musical instrument should outlive its owner. We do not mass-produce. Every piece in our store is either hand-selected from workshops that work slowly, or restored from neglected condition. Our expertise is in recognizing potential—knowing when a cracked soundboard can be saved, when a neck needs resetting, and when an instrument simply needs someone to play it again.
What We Offer
The collection includes acoustic guitars, mandolins, ukuleles, and a small number of stringed folk instruments from traditions outside the mainstream. Each instrument is inspected, adjusted, and tested. Buyers can choose between fully restored vintage pieces, new instruments from independent luthiers, and a “work-in-progress” range—instruments that are structurally sound but show honest wear. For those who cannot visit in person, each listing includes a video recording of the instrument being played in an untreated room.
When It’s Useful
When a student needs their first real instrument—not a toy, not a decoration.
When a working musician needs a reliable stage guitar that does not attract attention.
When a songwriter searches for a specific voice: dark, bright, dry, or ringing.
When an instrument has been left in a closet for years and needs revival.
When someone wants to give a gift that does not scream “gift”—but rather, quietly says “I noticed what you love.”
Why Choose Us
Most stores sell instruments as commodities. We sell them as companions. Every guitar leaves our workshop with a setup done by hand, not by machine. We do not upcharge for repairs that should have been done before sale. And because we work slowly, we can answer specific questions about each piece—what year it was likely made, what wood was used, what kind of music it prefers. The resonance of a Pati na Khata instrument is not louder. It is clearer.
