A Fairytale-Inspired Castle Wedding

  • On 11 August 2018, a freelance designer in graphics and digital design Ashley wed Marco, who works for a physical fitness charity within the majestic, medieval Castle, Peebles, Scotland. The couple was inspired by the beauty of the nearby countryside and mountains, keeping to an all-natural, botanical type of leaves and flowers.

"I was built with a bespoke dress designed especially for me personally and I loved it. She designed the princess wedding dresses having a full, frothy skirt and dainty plunging bodice layered on the lacy bralette. I love the thought of the removable skirt which transformed the appearance into a sexy style, fantastic for that evening party. I’d tried on several dresses in The Netherlands and Edinburgh and although some of them were stunning I couldn’t find precisely what I was searching for."

Ashley and Marco possess a beautiful love story to talk about about the way they met.

"We met in Rome in Italy, one of our favorite cities. I was there with my mate (and maid of honor) Louise. I'd recently sworn off men altogether and we'd decided to possess a girly week away filled with culture, good wine, and great food, therefore we inevitably, quickly bumped right into a group of beautiful, tall, blonde Dutchmen who changed our plans. Marco says it had been love in the beginning sight and the man knew at the moment that people met we'd see one another again, after Rome. He was right."

Marrying in Scotland was vital that you the couple. They find the castle not only for that breathtakingly beautiful setting and it is exclusive use but because its proximity to Edinburgh will make it easy for family and friends to come from afar and revel in all that the town had to offer.

Whilst the wedding party is prepared, Marco spends the morning together with his best man and family to dress in traditional Scottish dress. His Grey Stewart kilt was the starting place for their look.

"Marco wore a complete kilt set – Grey Stewart tartan with a charcoal grey blazer, waistcoat, and socks having a claret tie."

Immediately after the marriage, the newlyweds were in a position to escape these gorgeous couple shots from the lush, green countryside, taken by Inga. I love the in-the-moment vibe and naturalness of those photographs; the pair look so radiant. For Ashley, these moments were a few of her favorites of your day.

"When we met Inga for that first time she described herself because the 'photography ninja' and she or he didn't disappoint. She felt just like a friend we'd noted for years and was always quick to resolve emails that were so vital that planning our wedding from abroad. She is professional, creative along with a lovely addition to the wedding."

"Not only did she capture our day beautifully she was available to help on your day, pulling petals from roses with these flower girls just before the ceremony. I think I'd found her through Instagram within the beginning, I loved her bright, light-flooded style."

"When I asked Marco what his favorite part of your day was he explained he didn't wish to say the very first moment he saw me during my dress in the ceremony as that's confirmed. He starts using the moment he heard the bagpipes play 'Highland Cathedral', right before I made my walk with my dad on the aisle. He knows it's my favorite song and also the roar from it through the castle type of broke him, inside a happy, romantic type of way."

"If I was to do it once again we wouldn't leave writing our speeches to the nighttime before our wedding. I think we'd been putting them off a little and were consumed along with other things that week! As I desired to do a speech in Dutch for Marco's family and that he in English for my loved ones we needed to write them, email them to one another and correct our second language mistakes! I remember being exhausted within the wee hours from the morning scribbling away and merely wanting to enjoy the nighttime with Louise chatting and singing our song!"

    Words of Wedded Wisdom

"I think should you just go into things with positivity and attempt to remember that, as clichéd because it sounds, probably the most important thing is the fact that you're dealing with marrying your other half. The rest just doesn't matter within the end, as well as your day won't be better should you get upset concerning the things you cannot change."
